The training featured experienced experts: Don De Amicis, Expert Advisor at the US Department of Commerce, formerly Vice President and General Counsel of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (now DFC Development Finance Corporation), and Jean Smith (Gene Smith is the founder of Smith Brandon International).
The main topics of the speakers were: "Overview of various forms of public investment funds," "Risk management tools," "Project and corporate financing," and "Investment funds: private capital and private debt."
"The main goal of the training was to train employees of the UzDIF, departments, as well as professional participants in the securities market on the skills required for organizing the process of investment analysis and structuring transactions. This knowledge would enable our participants to understand and determine how to make investments and structure them, using the experience of the United States.
The American market is one of the largest in terms of the volume of the investment portfolio and global investments. Therefore, special training sessions were held for four days, teaching the skills of business valuation, its value, structuring an investment project, how to select partners, how to conduct investment analysis, and risk analysis. And all this was through the prism of the realities of the Uzbek economy," said Atabek Nazirov, head of UzDIF.
